No Crashing!23 days left until my next race. I crashed about 20 days before my half-ironman race in Florida. I don't want a repeat!! I will be doing the 5430 Boulder Long Course (half-ironman) event. I can't wait. I know several people who are doing the race. I am starting to get a little nervous. I know I can do better than my last race, but there are a few obstacles. 1) Boulder has hills. Florida Doesn't. 2) I will be able to wear a wetsuit. 3) I hope my running performance will be better. 4) Better hydration 5) Already experienced a race at this distance.
I could go on and on, but I will stop at 5. I need to start thinking about a plan for what I do after this race. I have three things sorta planned. 1) Complete a century ride, 2) Finish Denver Half/Full Marathon, 3) Volunteer for the 24 hours of triathlon event.
I also will be signing up to raise money for the
Challenged Athlete Foundation (CAF). It will be a new avenue for me, but it sounds great. I have met one challenged athlete, Joe, while I was biking last Saturday. He told me that CAF is a good organization. I will keep you posted.
What else...
I might be changing my blog site? Any opinions? I am on my Journey to Ironman in 2008. I feel that my blog needs a name change. ironeric.blogspot.com seems easier to remember. With this new format, I am thinking of the ways I have blog entries. I blog every workout I do. That is tough. I am a Silver member at
BeginnerTriathlete.com. There is a section where it will keep track of all your workouts in a much easier fashion. Daily blog entries are great...but with Ironman training...its going to be tough.

A really good day at the pool. My average 100 pace was awesome. I felt pretty good and my I kept the rest to a max of 15 seconds. I have always struggled with the rest thing, but not lately. I have no time to dink around.
